The kick-off meeting of COST Action CA24162 – Adaptive and acquired resistance in gastrointestinal cancers: contemporary and emerging resolutions (AdResCanCER) was successfully held on 22 October in Brussels.
The meeting marked the official launch of the Action and brought together participants from across the network to begin shaping its scientific and strategic direction. During the first Management Committee meeting, participants discussed the structure of the Action, key priorities, and the tools available within COST to support future activities.
The event also provided an opportunity to establish the basis for collaboration across Working Groups, encourage community building, and exchange ideas on the next steps of the Action. In addition to plenary sessions, participants took part in breakout discussions focused on Working Group activities and cross-cutting topics, including stakeholder involvement, grant awarding, scientific communication, Working Group membership, and training activities.
Following the meeting, participants also had the opportunity to enjoy some of Belgium’s finest hospitality and get to know each other in a more relaxed and informal atmosphere, further strengthening the foundations for future collaboration across the network.
As the first official gathering of the network, the kick-off meeting set the foundation for future cooperation and for advancing research on adaptive and acquired resistance in gastrointestinal cancers.
